SSI Extended Range

NZD $1,499.00

Or 6 payments of $249.83 What's this?

SSI Extended Range opens up possibilities often out of reach for the standard diver. XR diving increases your dive depths limits and extends your bottom times. The SSI Extended Range program is the core root program that all other open-circuit XR programs are built upon.

The course requires the use of either a Backmount system or XR Sidemount system both with one stage cylinder. The program is developed and intended for the use of trimix as the breathing gas to reduce inert gas narcosis and increase diver safety. An air option is also available.

The course will allow you to independently plan and conduct limited decompression dives to a maximum of 45m using decompression mixtures of up to 100% oxygen with specialized dive equipment and procedures for a maximum of 25 minutes accumulated decompression time.

Day One

Day one will begin with a theory session building your foundation of decompression procedures and skills before going to the pool in the afternoon to develop your diving skills and technique for extended range diving.

Day Two

On your second day we finalize your theory knowledge preparing you for your first open water day.

Day Three

Dives One & Two are conducted at the lake beginning your XR foundations in an open water environment. Developing your skills for your days four & five dives.

Days Four & Five

These two days will both be conducted on our purpose-built dive boat at some of our most popular locations. Dives 3-6 will develop your staged decompression knowledge and skills. These two days will finalize your extended range knowledge to be able to independently conduct a dive up to 45 meters for a maximum of 25 minutes accumulated decompression time with an equivalently trained or higher buddy.
